A study conducted within the African Continent suggested that the consumption of carbohydrates forms the main component of the daily diet which is a bit lopsided. In order to encourage adequate consumption of protein, i decided to let us have an overview of the varieties of methods of preparation of beans which is very rich in plant protein as a way to promote adequate nutrition.
Recipe 8
Serves 6
20 1/2 oz. Beans 510 g
1/2 pt. Palm Oil 250 ml
1 tsp. Salt
3 pts. Water 1,500 ml
- Wash the beans.
- Boil until soft and the water has evaporated, about 1 hr.
- Add salt to taste.
- Add palm oil.
- Serve with garri.
VARIATION:
Use a sauce instead of oil, fry onions, tomatoes, ground crayfish in vegetable oil.
Add to cooked beans.
This recipe is so simple that a beginner will find it quite easy to handle, on the other hand it is also very economical but equally very rich and sumptuos. What do you think?
