A Clean Kitchen in Just 15 Minutes!

SERIES "6"

Ingenious tricks to make after-meal cleanups a snap

We have outlined a whole lot of procedures to make your kitchen cleaner and the chores easier to handle, Please do drop a line to show how you are coping with these!!!
Designate a "clean team." The clean team is responsible for putting condiments and leftovers into the refrigerator, and for clearing and wiping down the table, and then sweeping the floor.

Assign sink duty. Post-meal cleanups are typically divided between the sink and rest-of-kitchen duties. If more than one person is doing the cleanup, assign one to handle the sink--cleaning the cookware, serveware, and utensils-and ask everyone else to take care of the rest.

Hold a lottery. If it's a challenge divvying up chores in your household, stop the debate and print your family's post-meal cleanup jobs on small strips of paper. Fold them in half, toss them in a bowl, and serve at the end of each meal. Have everyone pick a piece of paper in turn until the bowl is empty. No complaining allowed, and trading chores is at your family's discretion.

Bop while you clean. Put on a favorite music CD or let family members contribute their favorite tunes to a "Kitchen Mix." Teach the lesson that cleaning isn't "work" but family time that can be fun.

How these steps work depends on who is applying it and to what extent your commitment is to it.
