SERIES "9"

Ingenious tricks to make after-meal cleanups a snap

The "Cook"--as shall be designated from day to day by popular agreement of all eating--hereby agrees to assume all responsibilities and duties associated with the preparation of the meal. The Cook shall not complain about the assigned task, and shall create the meal in a reasonably neat method, including cleaning a reasonable number of bowls, pans, and utensils used during the cooking process.

The "Diners"--defined as those who partake in a meal without contributing substantially to its preparation--hereby agree to assume and share responsibilities associated with rapid cleanup after the meal. The Diners shall do so without protest or whining and at the general direction of the Cook.

Tasks shall include:

  • Putting dirty dishes, bowls, cutlery, and glasses into the sink or dishwasher
  • Putting leftovers and condiments into the refrigerator
  • Clearing tables and countertops
  • Wiping counters
  • Cleaning floors
  • Tidying the kitchen
  • Sink work (includes pot scrubbing)
